Curriculum Support and Development
What?
As part of our core offer to schools, we employ expert teachers to provide music curriculum support, advice and in-service training. The Bangdrum Music Service is able to support music specialists and non-specialist staff who are responsible for the delivery of music within the National Curriculum. Curriculum support and development support programmes are available for all schools in the Northwest. This is often a bespoke service according to the needs of each setting but can include:
- Initial overview meeting
- Planning
- INSET and delivery support
- Attainment and assessment guidance
- Audit exercise
- Networking
- Advice
- Lesson observations and demonstrations
- Support in creating and updating schemes of work and self assessment
Delivery can be in the form of regular weekly visits working with classes in the school or a departmental review which may take place in a more concentrated time-scale.
It is valuable to work in partnership to develop the music provision within your school. This service gives the school the opportunity to receive an external, objective review of their music provision. Raising the profile of music within your school will enhance the bigger picture of whole school improvement.
